Served "Kettle Black IPA" on tap, in a pint glass at the brewery. Poured a motor oil black color, produced an average tan head, showcased average retention and left an average amount of lacing on the glass. The aroma contained a base roasted malt with some floral hops and grapefruit rind. The ale is medium in body, it is a little on the thin side, it could use a bit more base malt for backbone. There is a nice piney hop taste throughout from start to finish. This beer does leave a bit of a hop aftertaste which is not unpleasant. Decent session beer- Decent attempt at the style.
