Brewed with molasses this dark and strong beer makes fast work of Winter. Used as the base for our Happy Dog Coffee Porter.

I received this beer from a trade. Porters aren't my style but this one was awesome. The previous reviewer nailed it. Molasses, coffee, sugar, yummy! Rum notes setting in. High alcohol taste. Yes! Perfect winter porter. Only prob is: Site won't let me upload pic of the product.

Pours midnight black with a creamy two inch lite brown head. Thick lacing consisting of lines and polka dots decorate the glass adding to the allure. Head retention is average and leaves behind a creamy film.
Aroma is rich in molasses followed by black licorice, dark fruits, caramel and chocolate. A light sweetness is followed by roasted malts.
The flavor starts out with an unmistakeable roastiness and sets the tone for what comes next. Molasses, unsweetened coffee, bitter chocolate and booze in the form of rum.
Mouthfeel has a bitter feel from start to finish. The body is medium to thick with a sticky feel. Finishes dry leaving my tongue begging for wetness.
Overall a pretty good offering in the Baltic Porter category. Perfect as a sipper on a cold winters night.
