Brewed from the same grains as our T2-R9 barleywine, this beer has all the flavor of it's big brother, without the kick. We dry hopped this batch pretty heavy, this drinks like a session APA/IPA @ under 5% abv.

On tap at Sonny's in Portland ME on 1/29/12. Into a pint glass.

A: golden straw color, good clarity, one finger of white head with good retention.

N: fresh, farm hay and fresh cut grass.

T: subtle hop profile up front, midpalet is a bit sweeter with some honey, finish is refreshingly bitter.

M: good carbonation, crisp, refreshing, decent mouthfeel overall.

O: average to above average pale. It's good and can see it as a sessionable beer, but wouldn't particularly go out of my way to obtain it again. Certainly worth trying.

Had on cask at Novare Res 6/27/09
This beer pours a hazy deep yellow. A one finger bubbly head rest on top of it. Good head retention with it remaining bubbly the whole way down, spotty bubbly lacing left on the glass. Nose is a mixture of grassy, yeast, and faint hops to it. Taste is very smooth and mild, some roasted malts start the flavor, moving in to a grassy and grainy taste, touch of floral hops pop in and finishes with a pale malts flavoring. Lighter bodied beer, medium carbonation, goes down very smooth, slightly creamy. This is one to sit with for an evening.

fourth and final day of NERAX 2009

described as a "small beer" brewed using the Parti-Gyle technique.

pale golden straw. clear. lots of sudsy head. minimal splotches of lace.

aroma: faint peach skin fruitiness and toasted malt. trace of grassy hop. trace of yeastiness in the back.

taste: watery but toasted malt. some diacetyl, then grassy hop with mild to moderate bitterness. touch of nearly soapy character. esters, malt and yeast do peek in towards the finish.

thin but smooth, with flash of resins in the finish. mild prickliness from the carbonation.
