Cask pour of 8 oz in a goblet, the beer is a dark, ruby-highlighted brown coloring with a light tan, dense, bubbled head. Very rich nose, with molasses and fig, as well as a touch of roast and char. Flavors of smoke and char overriding a malt bomb of a brew. Date and fig shine through, with a tangy highlight. Aftertaste of roast and smoke on old-world fruit sweetness. Slick, clean finish. Strong, and very tasty. Glad I was able to get my hands on this one.
