The Chief is a Munich style amber lager. Smooth creamy mouthfeel, toasty malt character.

330ml. I was storing this beer on its side in the fridge. On opening, most of the beer shot out - never seen anything like it before. So I've only got about 100ml or so to trial this beer.
L - deep red/amber, slightly hazy, thin white head
S - earthy, dark malt, with a note of marmite, nuts, and hint of dark fruit
T - dark fruits (prunes) along with hoppy bitterness up front, hint of toffee, some vanilla, tangy spiciness in finish
M - probably more carbonated than what I'm drinking (as most of the beer erupted onto the floor), light bodied for marzen, slightly watery
O - slightly flat, short version of a dark marzen. Good effort - drinkable. Shame most of it never made it to the glass.

Fairly clear dark amber colour with a small, shortlasted, light tan head.
Big, bready malt aroma with lots of melanoidin. Plenty of toffee as well. Slightly herbal. A touch too sweet.
Bready, malty and smooth but ultimately quite sweet. A touch too sugary for my likes in the style. Otherwise decent.
Medium to medium-full body with moderate carbonation. Fine.
A fair but uninspiring beer with a touch too much sweetness to be great.

Pours light copper wtih a quickly fading head.
Nose shows lovely nutty malt in abundance! Very potent! Not much else though...
Nutty malt continues as a flavours alongside a little caramel. Pretty light on after that though. Need more malt, the nutty malt alone gets a bit boring.
Soft carbonation could be higher.

Grabbed this at the brewery. Believe it was to be a limited offering but seems like they are keeping it on due to its popularity.
Pours nice with a nice head to drink through. Could not smell much from it but thats usual for me. The taste is good, nice and malty. Nice and creamy and like all 2 Brothers Beers, very drinkable. Possibly dangerous at 6.3%.

fairly drinkable, abv is pretty well hidden. But not grainy, effervescent or delicately hopped enough to be a great marzen for me. Still, a pretty resonable effort from a brewery i have plenty of time for.
