Fresh 355 ml shiny red can poured into a taster’s glass in Toulouse, FR. Surprised to find this at an international market. Slim foam up on pee gold brew.
Nose is a tad skunky, spent malt.
Tastes like an average Latin pilsner, only sweeter. It’s the sweetness that makes it tolerable, yes, interesting even. Finishes with a mid-tongue bitterness, leaves a sticky lip.
Mouthfeel is medium to full, medium carbonation.
Overall, I like it. Drank it ice cold. Bet it would be good with a sandwich Cubano and an order of tostones in Habana.,.

Review from notes taken in Koln in March 2016:
350ml (yes, really) format brown glass bottle purchased at the BierMuseum kiosk in Koln, Germany. The loud label really wants you to be aware this is a Cuban beer. 5.40% ABV.
A: Pours a standard white crown cap with ~1 minute retention but no lacing and average characteristics in terms of consistency and complexion.
Body colour is a pale copper with honey hues.
Appears undercarbonated. Suggests a generic lager. There're no unique or special characteristics here.
Sm: Cheap generic malted barley aroma on par with a Spanish lager like Voll Damm. Moderately high sweetness.
No hop presence. No noticeable yeast presence/esters.
Aroma is of average intensity, suggesting a shallow simple brew with no interesting flavours.
T: Matches the aroma. Shallow, simple, generic.
Elements like balance and intricacy aren't even worth examining in a beer this painfully crude.
Mf: Oddly dry, actually, especially towards the finish, which really reduces drinkability. Slightly coarse (even scratchy and rough), unrefreshing, medium-bodied, slightly stale, slightly syrupy. Has too much thickness and heft on the palate for a beer so simple.
There's no harmony of texture and taste here.
O: Tastes like an ersatz Spanish lager. Completely unremarkable, but certainly drinkable in spite of its many shortcomings. Its stale taste and weirdly dry, rough mouthfeel will turn off discerning drinkers and casual drinkers alike. I wouldn't recommend this to others, nor would I buy it again (especially at European import prices).
High D+ (2.49) / NOT RECOMMENDED

From Festival de las Naciones. In Ikea's pilsen glass. Watching Sons of Anarchy 1x12. A bit better than a typical spanish industrial lager. Taste reminds a bit to the cristal beer. Maybe some southamerican hops?
