Pours a deep brown color with a creamy khaki colored head that settled into a thick ring.
The aroma is of toasted brown bread. Caramel sweetness. Some light smoke.
The taste is of toasted Pumpernickel and sweet caramel and brown sugar. Nice earthy wet wood which transitions into a light smoke flavor. Slight lemony note.
The feel is moderate with very prickly carbonation. Great balance, great autumn brew.
Very nice earthy porter. Could use a bit more smoke but it's very enjoyable.
