Dyke is a relatively new contract brewery working out of Great South Bay Brewery, so I was not able to add an entry for their brewery. Either way, it's really nice that Dyke focuses on LGBTQIA+ culture through their beers, something more breweries have been doing lately. So, what the hell is this? Any Pumpkin Beer I've had before has used a style of ale as a base, but this one is a Marzen, a lager. Quite interesting. Let's see what it's all about
Pours a cloudy brownish orange with a finger of creamy off white head that fades to a thin cap and leaves minimal lacing
One sniff of this beer tells me it's going to be a balanced one, the pumpkin plays nicely with the base beer. I'm picking up on aromas of roasted pumpkin, bready malt, brown sugar, light toast, caramel, floral hops, and a touch of nutmeg
Ok so maybe the aroma wasn't exactly an indicator of taste, because the pumpkin lacks a bit here, though it is still pretty good. On the front end of the sip I'm tasting bready malt, pumpkin spice, toffee, light nutmeg, and a touch of general citrus that seems off-putting. The swallow brings notes of roasted pumpkin, toast, bready malt, light earthy hops, and more of that citrus
A light medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a crisp beer. Finishes mostly dry and toasty
This didn't exactly hit the mark for me (maybe it's a bit old) but it is still quite good. I'd love to try it fresher

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
