The band Pantera's 1992 release 'Vulgar Display of Power' has gone double platinum, and ranks in Rolling Stones' Top 10 Metal Albums Of All Time. No small feat! To brew a beer in tribute of this monumental metal achievement, Great South Bay selected nothing but the finest of ingredients and adhered strictly to the Reinheitsgebot brewing method, a "beer purity" approach dating back to a 1516 Bavarian law. The result is quite a "Vulgar Display of Lager" with a complex flavor profile that is cold fermented for the crisp and refreshing experience you'd expect from a world class German Lager.

Released as part of the collaboration series between KnuckleBonz, Ltd. and Great South Bay Brewery.

Pours clear gold color with a 2 finger thick foamy beige colored head that faded slowly and left nice lacing, especially for a pilsner. Smells of vegetable husk, sweet malt that resembles caramel, some floral notes and a dash of lemon zest. The taste is on the sweet side with malt that resembles caramel, some floral notes, very mild spice, vegetable husk, lemon zest, faint piney notes and bready yeast as it fades. It's very light with mild carbonation, zero bitterness and a watery feel. I love Pantera so I had to give this a try, overall it was alright.
