500ml bottle poured into glass brought back from uk beer fest that beer was also brought from

appearance: pitch black with fizzy light looking head for a stout, not terribly thick on the head and dissipates quickly

aroma: subtle aromas of toffee and caramel perhaps a bit of chocolate, subtle aromas

taste: uhhh is this a stout? really light in body flavor is very citric with some roasty tones, finishes dry and roasty with a touch of coffee but mostly sour...

I think the trip across the pond may have been unkind to this one as i cant imagine someone would make a stout that tastes like this...

Hand-pulled pint in it's home, The Baltic Fleet, Liverpool on 7th Feb 2014.

It looks like a Stout: black with an off-white foam on top.

It smells like a Stout: over roasted malts with coffee and chocolate hints.

Tastes like a Stout: Malty, coffee and chocolate again, slightly burnt overtone to the whole flavourings.

Medium bodied with a gentle feel, slips down well.

Nose gives some nice vanilla but taste is like cold coffee with water. Not a good one.
