fourth and final day of NERAX 2009
golden straw color. clear. sudsy ring. not much lace.
aroma: lots of apple and caramel. faint grassy hop note. trace of diacetyl in the finish. very faint soapy note?
slightly watery caramel with apple hint. diacetyl comes in starting from the middle. balanced off however by a gentle grassy hop and very mild bitterness, with faint resins lingering into the finish. flash of gentle acidity, but pleasant.
thin but pretty smooth. some texture in the very end of the finish. carbonation is gentle, for just a touch of flavor lift.

Enjoyed on-tap at the Horseshoe Pub, Hudson, MA. Presented in an imperial pint glass.
Slim 1/4" off-white head above the slightly cloudy amber brew. Head was quickly down to a skim, with average lacing. Aroma is moderate and balanced. Taste was well-balanced as well, malt and bitterness each had their part, meeting in the middle nicely. Mouthfeel was light-bodied, and drinkability was very easy. Went down as easy as a bitter should, would love to see this on cask. Have to try more from this new local brewery.
