Never had a pepper beer? This is where you need to start. Sweet Cayenne, Hungarian Wax, Inferno and Pimento peppers and a deep complexity with just a touch of heat. Earthy undertones round it out with a hint of sweet served in a snifter.

Big goblet tonight at the Boise pub... Fairly clear light amber.. Off-white head has good enough retention.
Nose is pretty pronounced "green chile" aroma... Sorta smells to me like the chiles weren't ripe yet... This is not a knock, just an observation.. A definite "green/bitter" note envelopes the aromas.
Flavor is more "beery" with plenty of pale maltiness and some background dry toast... the heat really comes in mid palate along with a wave of chile flavor. I guess I wish the chiles were allowed to ripen so they would be more of a sweet flavor instead of the "green jalapeno essence" that comes with early season chiles.
Pretty damn tasty despite the above criticisms... But one goblet was plenty for one sitting.
