This beer has an initial malty sweetness which gives away to a moderately dry finish and a toasted aspect. This lager is usually brewed for the month of March-where the onset of seasonal depression is upon us. But we just like the beer.

Chub fill tonight from the Boise pub... Surprised to see a new Märzen this time of year, but I love German lagers and had to give it a go. Pours clear deep orange with a nice long lasting white head.. Nose is rich and malty.. clean dark toast.. verging on "too dark" if that makes sense... Flavor is the same, dark toast and perhaps even hints of melanoidin or even smoke... hoppy presence is nearly perfectly balanced... Body is spot-on... This is SURPRISINGLY well made.. Not a knock on 10 Barrel, but this is fantastically made for a tough to nail down style. My only complaint, it does get a little bit "dark" on the palate.. perhaps even a little "meaty"... Still a minor complaint that could be inside my head.
