We took a classic golden ale and added local honey and fresh orange zest. the result is a nice crisp, easy drinking summer ale. Lightly hopped with bramling cross hops and brewed with 2 styles of European crystal malt. Now you can enjoy your summer in a glass.

Draft at Boise brewpub. Medium gold with small creamy head. Light sweetness, honey on the aroma. Taste too is about the honey, little orange to be had.

on tap now at the boise location, this is another variant on their base golden ale, which they really seem to play around with a lot. i think they honey and orange are nice adds to it, certainly summery, and well executed and professional like the beer always is in here. neither flavor is really too robust in the nose or the taste, and the base golden ale still stands up. ive always thought this was a little heavy for the style, not as light and easy drinking as i want it to be, even a little filling, and with the added weight and light sweetness of the honey, thats even more true. not that its heavy, but for the style it is, and i definitely didnt want to have four pints of this, as much as the flavors themselves are summery and somewhat reserved in terms of intensity. the honey has a floral aspect along with the sweet, while the orange is less bitter than it often is, flesh more than peel it seems. there is nice balance to this, but its a little bit more of a sipper than a pounder, even at this lower abv. good beer though overall, and for me preferable to some of the other things they have done with this base beer.
