this is really good beer. you know i was skeptical to roll in here and drink beers because of their recent sale and whatnot, but i should have known better. all of the beers were on point, and in the end this place ended up being one of the better brewery visits from our entire trip. this coffee porter is outstanding. nice and black in color, loads of coffee aroma and flavor, deep roast, dark chocolate, and bitter barley, a really nice expression of the low earthy end of the spectrum, and far better than i expected it to be. nice and creamy in the feel, no sweetness at all in here, and a nice raw cocoa flavor too. the coffee is dense, its black, and its not subtle at all. good bitterness all the way through it. lots of body too, maybe some oats to lift it up a little bit, smooth and velvety in texture, really nice going down. it somehow seems to settle my stomach too, there is something calming about this that i really like. overall an excellent coffee beer, really easy drinking but also quite hearty. well done!
