a hoppy kolsch, possibly unique to their denver location. a cool beer, perfect for these warmer spring days we are finally starting to see. its a very light looking glass of beer, almost clear and with a nice rich white head on it, super pale and minimal in appearance, lively though, sure to be refreshing. i get a little of the kolsch malt profile and crispness in the nose, the yeast is right and all too, but its the hops that stand out to me, hoppier than many, but seemingly mostly in dry hop here, not bitter at all but quite pronounced, flowers and melons, lights but interesting and inviting. the flavor is nice, light crackery european tasting malt followed by the blooming hops, bone dry and again rather minimalist, but the delicate and unique hop complexion makes this pretty intriguing still, infinitely drinkable too, lots of bubbles and light body without being watered down in feel, crisp and refreshing, obviously cold conditioned, likely on quite a bit of these hops. i taste honeydew and tangerine and lemon balm, really agreeable with the very mild kolsch underneath. say what you want about these guys and their buyout, but i like all the beer they make, especially at the denver location. keep em coming!
