i have truthfully liked all of the beers i have had out of their denver location so far, this one included. its a neat gose with some special salt from what i understand, black or smoked or both, but the salt isnt over the top or even that obvious to me as different or special in here, it just tastes like a well made gose. i do get some faint alderwood type smoke in the nose, really compatible with the fuller wheat base here, but its super subtle, a nuance at the most, earthy though and sort of an autumnal vibe to a style that usually screams summer to me. good clean tang on it, fairly sour once i taste it, but not stomach turning either, and still refreshing when ice cold. hops are minimal in flavor but there is a nice bitterness that comes in at the end, a lightly acrid (in a good way) thing from the smoke and minerals too, clever and good. not as light bodied as a lot of them, but i dont mind that here. everyone is making gose these days, not sure of a style with a faster or more widespread resurgence than this over the past couple of years, and more and more they are starting to all taste the same. its nice to have something a little different here, i thought this was great.
