apparently the base beer for the crush series, and apparently a gold medal winner, i thought it was fine but not incredible, very very light, and with some obvious lemony character to the lacto, not overly clean, with some real flavor to the sour profile, which is sadly becoming a rarity in these styles. i can appreciate a rawness to the wheat, its simple but it isnt boring, maybe a little light in terms of body, this is almost watery with the acidity breaking down the wheaty heft a bit, but i like the flavor here, and there is good balance in its lightness. subtle lime, melon, and even vegetal notes here, maybe my mind is imposing some of the crush varietals on this base beer, im not sure, but at the end of the day, i like this a lot better than i have liked any of the crush series beers, which all taste so forced and artificial to me. its nice to have this stripped down version, its just better to me, even old wordly a little bit. the 10 barrel in denver is awesome, their beers are all really good right now.
