Taster at 10 Barrel. Light golden, small wispy head. Sweet, malty aroma, honey. Taste too is light and sweet, grainy. Not overly exciting, but solid for the style.

a summer golden ale that looks like it has had several iterations over time, but right now this basic one is on tap at the boise brewery, and its pretty solid as they go, less boring than most in its field, and one that they play around with quite a lot it looks like, i had a pear golden while i was in as well that seemed like the same base beer. this has just a little more malt depth to it than is standard in the style, with a little bit of sweetness as well, even a light nutty note which i am not used to in warmer weather beers like this, but i like it being a little more complex. its real light on the hops and the ale yeast. so it makes sense to have a little more going on with the grain, just a soft spicy hop bitterness at the end, its interesting but its really faint. fuller bodied than most here too, which i dont dislike in a beer like this, but which limits drinkability at least a little bit. i had this in close proximity to their kolsch, and found a much higher refreshment factor in that one. a good base, also good on its own, but this is just beer flavored beer without a whole lot exciting going on. overall though, i am always impressed by the quality of the beer in here, no matter what location i am at.
