this is freaking delicious, a terpene new england ipa, brett fermented and funky, and with mosaic, el dorado, and vic secret hops. an ambitious beer that could easily have been awful, but its delicious, and a real triumph for these guys, one of their more creative and process intensive beers i have had. the brett adds some sort of saison character to this without ever making it sour at all, some cool fruity funk combines with the tropical hops really well, and mango, pineapple, passion fruit, and citrus notes abound here, a fresh expression of brett than i have known in beer like this before, its not mature or young, its just there, another flavor, almost estery like a belgian strain might be, not wrapped up in oak and time and all that, its still fresh, and a neat flavor contributor, especially with these awesome hops! not sure which terps are in this, but it definitely has a heady sativa vibe to me, mostly late, even after the swallow, nice with whatever hop is leaving the tangerine notes on the aftertaste, and also cool with the brett. traces of salt and iodine, as well as a light detergent citrus thing, the brett is cool in here, white wine notes too, a natural wine funk, never bitter either. really cool beer, lively and bubbly and dry and packed with yeast and hop flavor, i was a littler nervous about this, but it lived up to my high expectations. another cool beer from these guys, who never seem to get the credit they deserve for the ones they are making locally here in boise. this is great, and super different!
