I was this years old when I found out what a mountain IPA is (which is what they call this beer)- a compromise between east and west coast IPAs. And that makes sense for this beer: smooth, mild bitterness, slightly juicy. It looks west but veers east imo. Tasty though.

Poured from 12oz can into a dimpled mug. Date on the can is 12/23/22, so I'm guessing that's a best-by date.
Appearance: medium golden hue with a moderate haze and a thin layer of ivory froth atop. Not a bad color, but the head is pretty minimal, despite an active pour.
Smell: sweet malt with lightly piney, herbal hops. I feel like I'm detecting a hint of butteriness -- it's light, but I feel like it's there.
Taste: citrusy, piney hops, albeit with a rather muted intensity, atop a slightly toasty, slightly biscuity malt base. It's ... fine.
Mouthfeel: medium-rich body with a good level of carbonation and creaminess. A rare high point for this beer.
Overall: this beer is fine, but there are many, many better IPAs out there. No need to drink Bud!

12oz can dated 07May22 and served in a pint glass. Pale yellow, nice medium sized head, not particularly clear but certainly not hazy. Neutral aroma. Flavor has the profile of a classic west coast American IPA, but the volume is turned down. This could be a default choice, if unremarkable, IPA, if only you didn't like hops very much. At least the finish is clean and crisp, though the carbonation is a bit much.
I was expecting a "mountain IPA" in a can to be a kind of active-person, low ABV or session IPA. But the can is labeled as 6.5%. I don't think it tastes that strong, but it also doesn't have enough flavor to justify 6.5% ABV. Serious meh.

12oz can from Albertsons. Hazy golden pour, small, soapy white head. Aroma is caramel malts with floral, fruity hoppiness. Flavor is mostly hops, floral, soapy, sticky. Finishes fast

Can poured into a Stange. Lively white head quickly receeds. Color is straw yellow, opaque. I smell some lemon, maybe rosemary. Wow. I'm not loving this taste. It feels like the two styles (West Coast IPA meets NEIPA) compete more than complement. This is not a great descriptor but hydrogen peroxide is all I can come up with. There is no assertive character. 10 Barrel is pretty reliable in offering tasty, varied styles but not all are winners and this definitely falls into that category. Swing and a miss.

Poured from a can. A pale yellow color, hazy with a thick white head. Smell is a sweet fruit aroma. Lemon blossom and oranges. Taste is a sweet tropical fruit flavor with mild bitterness. It's ok. Not a great IPA but sweet and drinkable.

a new hazy from these guys, i didnt know any details, but pretty much of its 10 barrel and its hoppy, its going to be good, so ordered one last night and was very pleased. this is dripping with ripe stone fruit character and tastes and smells extremely fresh. its not overly hazy, a pale orange tone in the glass with some brightness behind it and no visible sediment, but its relatively dense at the same time, short white head chilling on top leaves some rings as i drink it down. i get ripe peach and apricot, a little canned pineapple, and a lighter generic citrus layer. its slightly herbal as it warms, and seems summer, a nice change of pace and vibe considering its the middle of winter. this has a smooth but fuller body, although the higher carbonation keeps it from feeling sluggish to me, the freshness keeps it drinking lighter than it is too. some oats likely in the grain bill, but there isnt a lot of maltiness happening, its simple and clean, slight cereal character and then dry, its minimal for how full this feels and how flavorful the beer is even without much from the grain in the taste. this is sort of a benchmark hazy for me, its full of hop character but almost no bitterness, it feels right for the style, and finishes pretty clean as these go, perhaps not the most interesting one in the world, but its rock solid in terms of execution. if you like hazy ones, you will absolutely enjoy this.
edit: this was even better for me the second time around, the freshness was magnified, the hops pop with juicy brightness, its super modern and very distinctive. i like all their hoppy stuff, but this might be my new favorite of them, glad to see it sticking around awhile, should be permanent in their lineup. melon and stone fruit and a silky texture. really great!

Look: Semi-clear orange in color with a dense white head that pillows up and leaves good lacing as it recedes
Aroma: Pine, citrus fruit, blueberries, tropical fruit notes, peach, and sweet bready malt
Taste: Peach, apricot, pear, and blueberries come on strong and interesting as they weren’t very prominent, if evident at all to me, on the nose. Light pine notes and sweet orange marmalade also make a showing and sweet malt guides the journey to a close with more citrus/peach/blueberry goodness and a light bite
Mouthfeel: Full bodied, soft throughout, medium-high carbonation, and a fairly soft finish with little to no dryness evident
Overall: I dig it. I had never heard of this when my brother came over to homebrew with two and gave me one, but it was a pleasant surprise. An interesting flavor profile in what is now a sea of IPAs made this stand out as well as its softness. I would definitely give it another go when in need of a ‘different’ IPA

On-tap in Boise ID; pours a clear straw color, well carbonated with a thin white head. Unique nose combines floral lemongrass with crackery malt; clear, clean citrus character on the palate with that same lemony, grassy hop profile. Leans more dry with subdued bitterness; clean and drinkable.
