lovely stuff here from the boise location, actually an italian pils, and a fine example of the style here, nice and hoppy to finish, good and crisp and clean, herbal, slightly fuller bodied and just off crackling dry, with just a touch more from the grain than is common in other pils types to balance the additional hops, which are both aromatic and flavorful, not to mention bitter at the finish. very refined, very modern, the kind of pils i find myself thirsty for more and more. slight honey character to the grain, still a bit of a european pils thing too, but a little heavier and quite a lot fresher than is common in most of these. the hops also appear noble at first, dried grassy and herbal, but with some fresh citrus and light spiciness that come on more as it warms up, orange peel too, and a lot of minerals from all of it brought out by the yeast, which is otherwise quite minimal. overall an excellent lager, would scratch the itch for just about anyone i would imagine, and extremely professionally done overall, like these guys just dont get enough credit for the quality and diversity of beers they produce. i was very pleased with this and reckon they should can it for the summer!
