Draft at Twisted Timber. Dark brown body with a thin skin of beige head. Aroma is roasty and bitter, dark chocolate. Taste keeps the bitterness going, burnt toast, roasted malts, coffee. Pretty full feel.

Bend, OR’s 10 Barrel Brewing Co. presents “Pray for POW”. I got a 12 oz can in Portland and brought it to SWFlorida, where it has 0% chance of being enjoyed in snow.
I’ll just share what 10 Barrel has to say about the taste characteristics of Pray for POW: “This is not your ordinary American Stout. In fact, this recipe has taken home 4 golds, 3 silvers, and 4 bronze medals throughout the years. This storm-inspired recipe hits you with dark chocolate, coffee, citrus, and berry notes to make some deep turns on your palate – the perfect big warmer after a day waist deep in pow.”
In other words, it tastes great . . .
Overall - it’s a fine little Stout! I’d like to try an Imperial version for sure.,.

12oz can
Pours two fingers of deep brown, dense head into my nitro glass. Retention is above average, and after a few minutes nearly half of the head remains; a sliver of head lasts till the end. Lacing is very thick. Body is black as motor oil. Looks wonderful
Nose is roasty up front, but quickly gives way to some nice caramel malts underneath that. A touch of chocolate as well. This is inviting, and it seems pretty well balanced.
Flavor comes out much less roasty. Has some caramel and fruit notes in the finish. Overall a pretty light flavor.
Carbonation is medium-low. Body is medium. Not super sweet, but definitely has some sweetness in the finish that goes along with those fruity flavors. Some bitterness, not much. Mouthfeel works well enough, wouldn’t mind a touch more carbonation.
Drinkability is one of the best qualities here. It’s relatively light bodied for the style, and despite the light flavor, it has enough to get the job done.
Overall this beer seems better than the flavor alone would indicate. It’s really drinkable and unoffensive; a good session beer for the colder months.

12 oz. can purchased in a 6-pack from Safeway in West Salem OR>
$10.99 (6).
Typical yet beautiful, fully black body..lovelt creamy tan head. Trad.
The aroma is of medium roast fresh coffee, dark chocolate and roasted malts. Very satisfying,
Taste is similar. But gets a bit milk chocolate in the end. Toasted malts finish it off. Some lactose. Nice.
Mouth feel is very smooth and almost creamy. Good.
An excellent stout.
THis is what i would call a Milk Stout.

Nice lacing but fairly thin head. Smells like vanilla, coco, and generic sweet caramel malt. Taste is caramel, nutty malt, mild hops, vanilla, and a hint of chocolate, as well as some light roast coffee. Finish is moderately dry. Inoffensive and easy drinking.

Look: Coal black on the pour with a hint of brown in the glass and my vigorous pour brings on a lofty light brown head that builds and settles to a lid, leaving great lacing behind
Aroma: Roasted barley, chocolate, earthy hops, warm brown bread, and a light nutty note
Taste: Follows the nose well. A big hit of chocolate and roast start it off as earthy hops trickle in behind. Rich bready malt and roasted barley hold center stage for a moment before chocolate reappears for the close
Mouthfeel: Full, smooth, medium-high carbonation, and a nice robust and slightly dry finish
Overall: I’m digging it. This is a tasty and well-made American Stout that checks all the boxes for me style-wise and is enjoyable to drink. A welcome addition to the winter beer line up and though I was at first disappointed that these folks replaced Pray For Snow with this, it makes a fine replacement

For an American stout this manages to avoid too much of the signature coffee profile, focusing instead on the roasted malt and a bit of spice. It finishes dry, and that's where the coffee bitterness lingers a bit. It's quite decent although I'd probably not want to drink a whole 6-pack of it as I prefer a sweeter stout.

apparently this has been around awhile and won some major hardware, but this is the first i have seen or heard of it, a cool stout finally coming in, oktoberfest, wet hop, and pumpkin season not even in the rearview yet, i have been waiting patiently for this time of year. this is pretty dynamic and unique beer, it has a nice deep roasty base, but isnt overly bitter there, there are coffee notes, but it doesnt linger and permeate like that, and its definitely got a spice profile to me that teases black pepper, allspice, and warming anise, but its subtle enough to be a mere nuance, a suggestion not a beatdown, and it feels cozy and palate coating without being huge and boozy or sweet, so many finer points to this, so different from what else is out there in this space. not too much alcohol here, no lingering bitterness, and with all kinds of neat middle complexity, clove, dark chocolate, dark bread, toffee, and even maple. creamy mouthfeel with a faster finish than most of these have, fully hearty and satisfying, and it almost puts me in the mood for winter. i will be drinking my share of these this season. really nicely done, unique and expertly executed.
