really fun beer, a jelly donut brew, but it drinks less pastry than most, even though it is in fact actually brewed with donuts, the powdered sugar ones, not the glazed ones, but its not all that sugary, and its not even cheap or forced to me, its just delicious, raspberry heavy but i believe there is also some peach in this, its tart, slightly sweet, and the base is a rather simplistic cream ale, which leaves plenty of space for the donut flavors to come through. lovely rose pink color to it with a faint orange twinge, bright but lacking full clarity, nice and bubbly. the nose on this is tart real raspberry, honey, and yellow cake, the donut part is right there, powdered sugar too, less peach, way more raspberry, remarkably clean and genuine, like its really good beer by any measure. the flavor agrees, tidy ferment, nice berry tang, actual donut flavor climaxes right on the swallow. im not usually big on this sort of thing, but this one really works. the base beer is light and clean, the donuts arent overdone, and the flavor of them really does come through. i love that its not all that sweet, and i think the high carbonation lends a lot of drinkability and even refreshment value to it. impressively good, like way better than it should be, and leagues better than other beers that actually employ baked goods. i hope to encounter this one again, liked it on a guilty pleasure level...

Taster at Boise brewpub. Hazy pour, pinkish color, small foamy head. Berries in the aroma, light vanilla notes. Taste stays the course with raspberries and vanilla with some sugary sweetness as well.
