really good new one from these guys, nelson in front of mosaic and citra, as flavorful as it is aromatic, exceedingly fresh on tap where i had it, juicy and bright and very low on bitterness but also not a new england style beer, close to clear, honey colored and bright, dry hoppy and modern, impressive overall. the nose is pure nelson, well, nelson with the others but totally in the drivers seat, almost ripe pear meets cooked lemon, white wine grape, and verbena, maybe a hint of coconut in there, oily and pure, modest grain sweetness but still seems like mostly basic pale pale, neutral ferment, off dry, this is about the hops without being out of balance, simple in a good way, juicy and vibrant, almost addicting to sniff. the flavor is just as good, hops start early and totally pop in this, honeysuckle, green gooseberry, ripe honeydew, and just a hint of lemon curd from the citra. i get less mosaic altogether, but its not missed, its in everything and we know what it does, the nelson out front is a nice choice, winey in a tight clean summery way, only light back end bitterness really, and enough malt sweetness in the honey range to keep it fully balanced, even extended, but i drink this quick and cold, found it both refreshing and hearty at the same time, and all up this is a pretty dynamite ipa, not really doing anything unique, but it doesnt need to because the execution is so on point. everyone who likes hoppy beer will dig this, i certainly do! best beer from these guys ive had in awhile...
