12oz can. Date stamp on bottom lip is 'NOV 12 2024'.
Partly cloudy, deep gold colored body. Two fingers of white head which collapse back to a pillowy cap and ring. Leaves behind irregular lacing rings.
Aroma is woody and dusty.
Taste has a sharp metallic bite with flavors of toasted bread malts and woody/grassy hops. Some sweetness joins in. Aftertaste still has the bitter bite.
Medium mouthfeel. Crisp and clean finish. Very good carbonation.
Has a style bitterness with some sweet balancing.

On tap at Social Capital in OKC. A good solid Pilsner. Like a Czech level of bitterness and sweetness.

This poured out very clear with a almost golden honey color. It had a decent white head that faded fairly quick. It had a very nice floral aroma with hints of fruit. Initial taste was very hoppy and tart that finished sweet and clean with a fruity flourish. It was crisp and bright with a nice light mouthfeel. It seemed to have a dryer finish as it warmed but it wasn’t bad. All told it’s a very enjoyable beer and I’m glad to be able to purchase it locally.

Pours a murky golden yellow. Typical aroma w/ some melon, grass/straw and herb. Has that perfect pils-hop-bite with more light fruit and grain. Light and crisp through and through.
Marshal always captures a touch of German magic authenticity in each of their beers, and this one's no different. Prost.

On tap at the airport and I love it. Cloudy golden honey color. Floral smell, a taste that follows with hop bitterness tempered by sweet malt. Medium carbonation, overall a winner in my book.

Pours a hazed honey color with a thumb of pearl colored head. Good head retention & pretty good lacing, way too hazed
S: Bready, grassy, pears
T: Follows the nose , a little pear as well up front. Grassy bitterness starts to dominate as it warms, along with some astringency. Finished dry, grassy with a little lemon & pear
MF: Medium body, slight carbonation, a little grainyness to this. Could be be better on the balance, but not way off
Drinks easy, but kind off style a little

12 oz bottle filled on 26 Jun 2018. Pours to a one inch head that falls to a thin layer of fine foam that lasts and laces to the pleasantly soft bitter end. The beer is hazy and I cannot find anything that says that is a style characteristic for Northern Pils, so neutral score on the looks. [Update 10/7/18: the draft version at McNellies OKC was crystal clear.] Smells of fresh, crisp Pilsner malt and floral, spicy noble hops. Flavor is textbook decocted Pils malts upfront, giving way to soft noble bitterness and flavor. Crisp dry finish. Light mouthfeel and nominal carbonation. I know that Marshall was founded by a German-trained brewer who loves German beer so no excuses allowed. On the whole, I'd say this is a tasty, satisfying winner. Don't understand the haze, though. And I certainly don't understand the low ratings on this one (except for appearance) unless it has been reformulated. It is 5.0% abv now so the recipe and process may have changed for the better recently. This is great tasting beer. If you like high quality, all malt refreshing yellow beer of any kind, you have to give this one a go if you are in Tulsa.

Bottled 3/20/18. Poured into stein. For what it's worth, this actually clocks in at 5.1% abv instead of the 4.0% listed.
A: Cloudy, borderline off putting yellow. In America we drink our cold gold transparent, dammit. Two fingers slight off white head. Big bubbles. Very good retention on said head. Excellent lacing.
S: Slightly soapy hops essence. Touch floral and herbal with hints of lemon. Malt is more of a grainy, untoasted note on the nose.
T: Hop notes up front. Again, herbal, floral, a little spicy and touches of lemon. Malt is downplayed here and exhibits a grain like taste. Hop bitterness is very noticeable and lingers into the finish and aftertaste. Fairly dry.
M: Medium bodied. Carbonation is there, but it's very fine and not quite as sparkling as some examples I've had. Still, the carbonation and bitterness do a good job scrubbing the palate.
O: Bitterness is a bit high compared to hop aroma and flavor, but that may be stylistically accurate. I'm not well versed enough in Northern vs Southern German pilsners to know whether cloudy bitter beer is the standard north of Bavaria.

They almost pull it off but not quite a little to bitter on the swallow. Beer pours a hazy orangish color with a white head and a lot of lacing. Smell pilsner flavor bitter not as sessionable as other Pils. Overall nah!

On tap. Pours pale yellow with a white, one finger head that lingers and leaves lacing halfway down the glass. Noticeable hop presence in the nose. Taste is a lesser version of the nose with spicy hop overtaking any sense of malt or wheat. Light body and medium-light carbonation with a hoppy ending.
I like how there wasn't fear of hops for this, but it was one dimensional. It is so light it feels watered down. I'd love to see a 6 point version of this because it would probably work better. Good hops don't completely counter the body.
