From the brewer: "A SMaSH Beer...This beer was produced with...Pilsner Malt, Saphir hops, water, and our house Lager yeast..." From a crowler filled on 6/25. Pours to a 2 inch head that falls to a patchy yet dense layer that laces and lasts. Color is clear gold. Aroma is clean pilsner malt and a noble hop aroma of flowers, herbs, grass and clementines. This Saphir hop has a noble character with a touch of stateside attitude. Flavor is clean and crisp with the hops and malts balanced well. Finish is slightly fruity, suggestive of a "juicy hop" beer. Mouthfeel is light-medium and CO2 is good. Overall a tasty treat and a bridge between US and German hop characters.
