Break out the lederhosen and get ready for some good old Bavarian Gemütlichkeit…Oklahoma Style. Marshall Brewing Company’s Oktoberfest is a beautiful deep cooper-colored lager highlighted by a complex malt flavor, elegantly balanced by the bittering of noble German hops. This beer is extremely smooth and highly drinkable.

Poured from a 12 oz can into a pint glass.

Clean and crisp, malty, some hops and toasty notes but grain flavors dominate. True to style. Not too sweet. Very balanced.

A: Pours a dark red color with a quick disapearing cream head. Head quickly goes away leaving only a small rim. No lacing

S: Nothing stands out for a specific smell. Getting a small amount of spice and malt but nothing stands out.

T: Taste seems flat. Picking up a slight marzen style and minimal pilsner malt taste.

M: Very thin and flat tasting.

O: Not very good. May be a bad batch or need some age, but this doesn't meet the standards Marshall puts up typically.

Poured into dimpled seidel. No head. No lace. Honey colored.

Nose of malt, honey, a tang like lemon.

Taste is rich, even a little complex. Caramel and spice. Noble hop quotient is more noticeable than in many Märzen beers.

A surprisingly sweet Oktoberfest from a state that has a decent number of German descendants. A distant take on the style.

A: 4 - Pours a very beautiful dark, rich orange color. Zero head.

S: 3.5 - Smells like Fall! The scent isn't too strong. I pick up just a tiny bit of the malt. Smells kind of wheaty, a little caramel. Nothing too spectacular.

T: 4.25 - It tastes better than it smells! There is a decent hop presence, again, little malt. Toffee. A very good tasting beer.

M: 4 - Medium body, some decent carbonation. Very drinkable.

O: 3.93 - Overall a very nice Oktoberfest by a local brewery! Tulsa is only a couple hours away, so I think I'd like to go check it out sometime. I could definitely drink this again, and I think it's quite fitting for the season. WPS
