Picked this up in Oklahoma last summer at a Quik Trip in Henryetta. Thought that this would be a typical take on an American IPA and in the end, that's exactly what this was as it was something enjoyable to sip during my nights working my way back home.
Hazy and honey in hue, this had way more than enough head topping it off, as it took quite a while to settle down. Not much lacing remained as there were plenty of spots that slowly slid down as I sipped this. Earthy hops, citrus rind, and grapefruit pith were in the muted nose as the taste was equally juicy and bitter at the same time. The more this warmed up, the more this felt like something from the left coast as the bitterness took hold and the deep pine emerged as the dominating tone of this brew. Plenty full in body, moderately carbonated, and low in overt alcoholic presence, this was a straightforward IPA that checked all of the boxes off with the end result being an unoffensive offering - to hopheads...
A bit of bread stuck around in the aftertaste as this felt like it had too much gluten in it. Subtly slick at the same time, there was a light stickiness that made me feel like I just ate at Panera. Canned on May 18 of last year with "CHOO CHOO" written above it, there was a bit of sediment that had to be swirled out of this. Otherwise, this was fine except for the chaser of water needed to get it down. Give it a go once if you're in the Sooner State and need a local IPA to support!

Pours a hazed gold/honey with way too much cream colored head from not so aggressive pour. Great head retention & lacing
S: Lemons. breadyness, pine, skews more cakey as it warms
T: Biscuitty malt, lemons, limes, dryness up front. Dry, pineyness, a little lime as this warms, cakeyness as well. Finishes dry, cakey with pine & a little grapefruit
MF: Medium body, fairly restrained carbonation, pretty good balance
This like jumping in a time machine & going back to the Mid 90s. Not surprising, this brewery usually presents their beers as straight forward takes on the style. Fairly drinkable, but not one I'd pick up gain
