A rich, dark full-bodied ale with hints of roasted coffee and chocolate. Flaked oats are added to give it smoothness. It is nitrogen charged to give a thick, creamy tan head.

A - Poured an opaque, jet-black color with a small, light brown head of bubbly foam. It left some sudsy trails of patchy lace.
S - Good roasty aroma with notes of oats, chocolate and toffee. Slightly floral, too.
T - Good roasty flavors up front with some good chocolate, oat and toffee flavors. There's a good deal of sweet caramel and butterscotch. Nice bitter presence helps balance.
M - It was crisp, sharp and smooth. A medium bodied ale with a dry finish.
O - This is tasty. A little sweeter than I expected for the style but it was a good growler to have on hand.

Pours a dark black, with brown along the edges. 1/4 inch head of an off-white color. Good retention and good lacing. Smells of sweet malt, toffee, and slight hops. Fits the style of an Oatmeal Stout. Mouth feel is smooth and thick with a low carbonation level. Tastes of roasted malt, sweet malt, slight alcohol, and a hint of hops. Overall, a good body, blend, aroma, and drinkability.

Presentation: 10oz taster glass, filled to the top, but with a bit of thick nitro head
Appearance: Dark walnut brown beer, not as black as most stouts, and with a creamy tan nitro head which looks great with medium retention
Smell: Mild sweet dark malts...just a tiny hint of roast...super simple
Taste: Dark fruit, very mild sweet roasted grains, very light chocolate, and a touch of smoke on the finish...
Mouthfeel: Fairly light, low carbonation, and slippery mouthfeel; kind of like a Guinness, but a little more to it perhaps
Drinkability: All day
Conclusion: I was expecting a bit more from this as an Oatmeal Stout...this is more like a slightly sweeter dry stout...super simple but tasty; would be great to wash down pub grub, maybe as a simple session pub ale
