Brewed with Indonesian Sumatra and Hawaiian Kona coffees, bitter and Belgian dark chocolates along with a generous amount of oatmeal. This beer is almost a meal in itself. Try it with dessert.

Pours a black color. 1/3 inch head of a tan color. Great retention and slight lacing. Smells of sweet malt, strong coffee, slight roasted malt. Fits the style of an American Stout. Mouth feel is smooth and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of strong coffee, slight roasted malt, hint of sweet malt, and hint of hop. Overall, very coffee-centric. If there was more balance it would be better, but still a good stout.

A - Poured an opaque, jet-black color with a one-finger, cappuccino-like head of foam. It left some sudsy streaks of lace on the glass.

S - Big java aroma. It was really powerful. You could caught some maltiness, too.

T - The java aroma backs down to a reasonable level in the flavor department. Some nice roasty notes with a touch of chocolate.

M - It was crisp and sharp with a smooth finish. A medium bodied ale that is quite dry.

O - This is a really good coffee stout. It could do very well as a regular at Prison Brews.
