a nice local ipa, big on the rye malt, and a good companion to a lazy afternoon. it pours clear golden, light for the style, with a big white head on top that leaves spider web lacing as it drinks. smells like it sounds, spicy and bready from the rye, pungently citric from the hops. the flavors don't quite combine as well as the smells, but the rye presence is big. its filling to me, a little overdone, but more clean than most. the hops come in more at the end, with a light topical fruit hint, but mostly straightforward bitterness. the citrus fruit part of the smell never really makes it onto my palate here. could use a tad more carbonation, and maybe a little less body to be a real session beer for me, but I appreciate the complexity and the ambition. not quite as good as their darkness stout, but one of the better beers from legends.

C: Golden yellow-orange. White head, with not much retention, but leaves good lacing on the glass.
S: Grassy, herbal, butter, hay. Not alot of flowery or fruit hop smell. This is an IPA that doesn't seem to use tons of the "C" hops.
T: Rye! This beer has rye malt as its base. The hops are not overpowering, but definitely present, and it leaves a nice bitter bite at the finish.
M: Crisp. Leaves a tingle on the tongue. Not slippery.
D: Not too strong in any one flavor. Has a non-citrus character that is a nice change, and the rye malt is a great combination with the hop mix. Very easy to have tooo many of them in one sitting
