12oz bottle purchased as a single somewhere in NoVA, either WF/Vienna, WF/Annadale, Norm's, or Rick's.
Poured into an imperial pint glass, whooee, a big ol' foamer, formed 5" light tan head over the 1/2" of chestnut brew. Head is frothy and lasts well, which means it takes forever to get this bottle into the glass. Huge areas of meringey lace all over. Aroma is effervescent as well, with a malty bent to it. Taste is reasonably well-balanced, with a lean toward the grains. Mouthfeel is, even after all that foaming, still very gassy, detracting from what would most likely be a nice smooth brew. Drinkability is also limited by the same. Seems like we got what looks like a reasonable brew here, with not the best presentation. Hopefully, I will see this one again and revisit.

This review is based on a growler from the brewpub.
Hazy dark brown with a low light brown head, low carbonation and some lace. Malty aroma with mild roastiness. Tastes much like it smells; a nice substantial dark ale with some coffee notes. Light-medium bodied with a roasty finish that's lightly dry.
A very nice session beer. They should bottle this one - one of their better brews ! Wish a more descriptive name of it was available somewhere ... Will update if I find it.
