Thanks to hopdog...
Appears a dark brown, nearing black with a small tan head that quickly fades into a small, mild cap. Spotty streaks of lacing are left around the glass.
Smell is of cocoa, cream, ripe black grapes, vanilla, caramel, and a touch of oak.
Taste is of the mentioned aromas with more of a plum flavor coming through and a very, very mild trace of the oaky vanilla.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, creamy, with fruity grapes resounding.

This was the Friday Firken tap, so I got to try this next to the regular Stony Man Stout. Here are my notes for that brew:
A leathery, dark brown body with good head that left a myriad of lacings. Coffee and cocoa malts dominate the smell, pushing out hops but they are a rather bland smelling malt. A very smooth brew as the malts are the noticable taste, but the coffee and cocoa malts here arjust bland. Nothing of real significance, I would drink this again but it wouldn't be my first choice.
This is an improvment. I hae noted here that the head on the beer is two-finger and frothy and left severe lacings. On top of having a blacker, thicker-looking body, the chocolate malts are much more prevelant and the beer has a darker, chocolate taste. It is also smoother and creamy, which the other one wasn't. If you can catch this, drink it.

A: pours a deep murky brown almost black with off white head.
S: not very strong but a lot going on. a little bit of caramel malt and alcohol zing, followed with a slight pine scent mixed with an faint peaty woody smell.
T:a little raisin and roasted malt with a bitter boozy woody finish.
M: farily carbonated and thin with a very boozy ending
D: my favorite beer while I was there, could have had a couple, decent brew

Big thanks to AK for this little beast.
Had a nice fruity/alcohol/chocolate smell to it. Something quite busy none the less. Taste was similar, but a little more on the alochol, which is fine by me. It had many different levels of taste and smell intertwined, which made it quick complex. All in all a fun beer to try though. I wasn't really sure what to expect, seeing what the reviews were for the original style of this beer, coupled with the aged style. Definately something worth a try if you have a chance to.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
