Look: clear yellow pour, slight white head
Smell: immediate floral hop, very pleasant, some nice malt as well
Taste: hoppy, like 'tastes like hops' flavor, bread grains comes through, bitterness on the back end
Feel: medium to full body, impressed with it being 4.5 and all
Overall: not bad, not too expansive on flavor, BUT still flavorful, much moreso than most Mexican beers I've had so I really like the growth!! Pleasant enough especially considering I would expect to have an IPA like this brewed here :D

Beer #4 of the 2018 advent calendar.
Unlike it's brother, the 7% (Baja) Mexican IPA, this one is called a session ale. And I could definitely drink this all evening.
Good hop flavor and mild bitterness, nice head and retention; this one ticks off all of the boxes. A very nice effort.

Day four of the craft beer advent calendar. Nicely balanced between malt and hops. The session aspect works with this beer. Very drinkable. Would search it out in Mexico

355ml bottle - day 4 of the 2018 Craft Beer Advent Calendar. A Session IPA, made in collaboration with fellow Mexican outfit Cervecería Cholula.

This beer pours a slightly hazy, medium golden yellow colour, with a teeming tower of puffy, rocky, and mildly bubbly dirty white head, which leaves some stellar pockmarked limestone wall pattern lace around the glass as it evenly subsides.

It smells of gritty and grainy cereal malt, some mixed citrus and pineapple fruitiness, subtle estery yeast, and some plain earthy, musty, and grassy green hop bitters. The taste is bready and doughy caramel malt, orange, red grapefruit, and lemon peel, a damp minerality, and more leafy, herbal, and dead grassy hoppiness.

The carbonation is average in its palate-pleasing frothiness, the body a decent middleweight, and sort of smooth, as the hop acridity kind of takes a minor tithe at this point in the process. It finishes trending dry, the hops tightening the lingering noose.

Overall - yup, this is another hoppy offering from this brewing concern, but this time it feels more balanced, and easy to put back. Lots of flavour for clocking in at only 4.5%, and I have to admit I appreciate the faintly self-deprecating name.
