Comes in a standard brown half-liter bottle with a pretty busy multi-colored label featuring what I think are hops vines and some lettering. Ingredients include rice and sugar. Best before 2/6/04, I opened mine on 11/1/03.
Pours a clear light burgundy under a reddish head that fades very quickly. The nose is fresh and malty, with a bit of raspberry reminiscent of red ales. The mouth is very prickly and medium-bodied. The taste is a bit like a light porter - caramel, prunes and malt. There's a pleasant mild bitter finish. The aftertaste combines prunes, raisins and hops. This is not a great beer, but it's pretty darn good.
