Comes in a standard brown half liter bottle with a magenta and silver label and silver foil around the neck. Ingredients conform to the purity law. Best before 9/30/04, I opened it on 4/28/04.

Pours clear magenta under an off white two finger head that disappears in a flash. There's a mild sweet caramel nose. The mouth is light and prickly. The opening is sweet and slightly caramel, followed by just a trace of mild, smooth hops. The aftertaste is sweet malt, with very little bitterness. Neither good nor bad, it just is. Whatever. (Note: I've never seen this anywhere other than Kazan, where it is brewed. The rest of the Chechskiy Standart line is available throughout Russia, but not this one. Guess they are too embarassed to ship it?)
