500ml bottle. "Red East Classic".

The color is a medium gold with a fizzy head.

Smells like sweet dough, not much else, doesn't smell like the average EPL.

The taste is sweet and grainy, very sweet. It doesn't have much besides some brown sugar flavor.

Definitely an oddity.

Straw color, with a thin white head that fades quickly, leaving some patches. Little bit of lacing.
Smell is sweet and heavy caramel malts with a slightly roasted aspect. Some sugary notes, as well as some fig notes. Little bit of hops and barley.
Taste is sweet, caramel malts, with some sugar and fig. Some more subtle notes of hops, as well as some barley notes. Euro yeast.Finish has a subtle sour aspect.
Mouthfeel is crisp up front and fairly smooth towards the finish. Finish is slightly watery. Light body.
Drinability is okay. The sweet malt aspect borders on being overpowering, and makes it not so easy to drink.

Got this at Surdyk's in Minneapolis a month ago. Poured with a decent foamy, frothy, textured off, white head, that lasted a while and no lace. Color is a very clear yellow. Aroma is malty, sweet, and a bit of hops. Flavor is about the same. Too sweet for me. Body is ok and so is carbonation. Finish is dominated by corn sweetener. Not a session beer for me.

Appearance: Amber color with a bit of head and some carbonation.
Nose There is yeast and malt and hops. The taste is more on the malt with a subtle sweet finish. Body is thin but not watery. A better version of Budweiser. A clean finish. easy drinking

I didn't expect much from this beer, and it slightly did better than that expectation. Had average head with good lace, bubbly and gold. Definitely could smell the roasted malts.

Very malty beer. It's pretty solid. Much better than say an American Macro. Leaves a strange malty taste in back of the mouth.

While it may have many of the elements of a macro, it has good taste and scent. Definitely solid.

very clear, quite pale, a nice thick head poured out made up for the unimpressive color.

smells like wet hay, very sour. almost like an MGD.

grassy flavor, sour hops, very clean however and quite refreshing.

a little watery, very balanced sour and bitter are cleansed off the palatte quickly.

not a bad beer, I'm glad I tried something new, it's very refreshing and I'm sure it's great on a warm day. although I can think of about 5 Euro pales that I'd rather be drinking.

Krasny Vostok, billed as "The Tradition Beer Of Russia", pours a crystal-clear golden body beneath a full head of white froth that holds well and leaves some minor lace at the outset of the glass.
The nose offers a nice combination of sweetish, adjunct laden malt and herbal hops.
In the mouth it's crisp oon the tongue with a slightly elevated carbonation and a medium body.
The flavor offers sweetish malt upfront, followed by some herbal and spicy hops, and then a surge of solid, brash bitterness that brings it crashingly down into a dry and bitter finish that lingers. talk about two ends of the spectrum! It's balanced for sure, but I think there could be a little more finesse to it.

Overall, in comparison to alot of other Russian beers, it's not bad (at least it's clean; and it's not astringent or completely out of balance). However, many breweries there have been making great headway lately and are turning out much better beers. It's worth trying if you have a taste for them, otherwise I'd pass this one by.
