Poured on tap into a tumbler at ChurchKey DC.

A dark brown black walnut with red hue edges for the body. A nice tan and creamy head with nice lacing too.

A wet clean smell with hints of some dry clove spice, but gets into big tobacco pipe smoke. Very mild and sort of whispy.

Bouquet is quite impressive and distinct for an oatmeal stout. Mild sweet taste of pipe tobacco, dry cloves, and wood like embers. Light bodied in feeling texture with cigar box wood. A Little bit wet.

Overall, I like drinking this particular oatmeal stout because it feels and tastes like liquid pipe tobacco and smoke. Slightly sweet, and very aromatic.

A: Good looking stout. No lights can pass through it. The head is creamy and strong.

S: The oatmeal characteristics are dominant here. Otherwise, we can smell some vanilla and chocolate. Sweet smell overall.

T: Again, oatmeal dominates here. This brew is all about oatmeal. The vanilla and chocolate sweetness are a bit tamed here, letting more place to the roasted malts taste. Nice hop bitterness too.

M: This is the part of the beer that I don't like much. It has too much carbonation for the style (a bit over medium) and has a little watery mouthfeel.

D: It's good. Even with the strong oatmeal taste, we can manage to get several of these without feeling to stop.
