After a trip to Hop'n Roll, I was feeling very good. It was still early in the night, but because of an early flight the next, I decided to take it easy at Cervejaria da Vila. Unlike other parts of Curitiba, there is somewhat reasonable parking to find on the street around CdV.

Entering this beer wonder, you feel like you're a gust in somebody's house. It's a small place with shelves filled with empty beer bottles, several fridges, filled with bottles for sale, a staircase leading to anotehr level, and reasonably clean bathrooms.

I can't say for certain if brewing actually takes place here, but there is probably the best beer inventory in all of Curitiba. Roughy 250 bottles of beer are available, and if that's not enough, a dozen very interesting choices of taps. You can find beers from Wäls, Basement, Mistura Clássica, Malheur, Westmalle, Fullers, Rogue, Way, Brewdog (including Sink the Bismarck!), Falke, Bamberg (including St. Michael). The tap list is very interesting and features a mix of dommestic and imported beers, such as the Hi-5 Black IPA, Rogue Hazelnut Brown, Diabolica, and Way Cream Porter. If I had arrived just a day later, I would have made it for a beer festival and had the opportunity to try Bodebrown Tripel and Mild on-tap! The beers I tried were fresh, not served too cold, and there is proper glassware available.

The service was good and helpful, and my server could speak a few words of English.

Petiscos, a few entrees, and choices of "Swiss potatoes" are offered. A hearty Swiss potato with bacon and cheese sounded dank at the time, and it fil the bill very well.

In the land of Curitiba beer bars, Cervejaria da Vila might well be the king. Good atmosphere, competent service, reasonable prices, and an outstanding (for Curitiba) selection of beers with complimenting glassware make CdV a must stop in this underrated city.
