10 ounce pour at the brewery.
Sticky lacing and a thick and chewy khaki-colored head. Splendid color on the body: dark brown, amber and gold with clarity at the base. 4.5
Campfire, smoked ham, sweet ham on the nose. 4
There's a considerable malt base offering chocolate, maple and caramel, but a good touch of smokiness tasting like smoked ham and a campfire. There's a pretty strong hop bitterness that also offers some floral notes to the flavor. This lends a bit more aggressive of a mouthfeel than Aecht Schlenkerla, which I am essentially measuring it by. It's got a medium to heavy mouthfeel but doesn't quite have the creaminess nailed down. T- 4 M 3.5
Glad to see this on tap. Marble keeps lots of variety on their board with good results and this is no exception. Good stuff.
