this was easily my favorite beer i had in here, just a gorgeous and well dosed combination of hops, super fresh, and really featuring the best aspects of each of these, also some of the boldest and clearest use of the new idaho 7 hops that i have seen so far! golden honey colored brew with excellent clarity and a short but lasting white head. it smells like grasses, wet and fresh cut, pineapples, tangerines, white grapes, yellow plums, and swirling essential oils, all dry hopped in. its very pungent but very fresh, and only moderately bitter to my senses for what it is. some mango and tropical fruit to these hops, i get a little of the cat pee thing in the mosaic, but a huge rush of spruce and fruit cocktail in the idaho 7, earthy and northwestern, but enhanced so much by the others. the combination here is fantastic, not totally unfamiliar even with the idaho 7, its in line with some other heavy hitters right now, but man is this good overall. the grain base is sturdy enough for all the hops but it isnt even a little bit sweet, and there is a fine richness with all the oils of the hops pushing through. orange peel, melon, and white wine to finish, moderate bitterness, and a sort of fleeting moment vibe to this. i feel like each sip i take i get a little closer to never being able to enjoy this again. a really good ipa!
