simple and minimal and familiar, but just really good ipa. immediately recognizable in the aroma as cascade hops, a beer doesnt always have to be weird or strange or even particularly ambitious to be interesting to me and delicious, and this is a great example of less is more sometimes. its a really sturdy ipa, and a really complete one. i like it being a little stronger, it allows for more hops, and allows for balance at a higher level of flavor. these hops are spicy, with a zesty bitter grapefruit element and a fresh vegetal aspect, cascade is famous for a reason, and this really is a pretty full spectrum hop that here makes this smell like fresh cut citrus fruit, but also bitters it up real nicely at the end, snappy and crisping and earthy, its all here. i like the slightly oily texture and fuller body but at the same time relative dryness, it drinks easy for its size and has a long finish despite being refreshing, the hops just hang around awhile. straightforward beer of high quality, good ingredients used well, a great expression of cascade hops.
