330ml bottle - an American Pale Ale, made in Croatia, and sold in Canada. Yep.
This beer pours a clear, bright medium bronzed amber colour, with four fingers of puffy, finely foamy, and somewhat creamy tan head, which leaves a bit of splattered chunky lace around the glass as it slowly subsides.
It smells of bready and doughy caramel malt, mixed sweet citrus and stone fruit, and very minor earthy, leafy, and floral green hop bitters. The taste is gritty and grainy caramel malt, a hint of biscuity toffee, brown sugar syrup, some faint muddled fruitiness, ethereal yeasty notes, and more well understated herbal, musty, and floral verdant hoppiness.
The carbonation is average in its plebeian frothiness, the body a so-so middleweight, and generally smooth, with just a touch of indeterminate pithiness maybe taking the shine off of things here. It finishes off-dry, the plain malty and fruity sweetness winning the lingering day.
Overall - yeah, there isn't anything particularly wrong with this offering, but there isn't anything particular right about it, either. As an amber ale, it would work fine, but there is just a huge lack of hop bitterness going on, for it call itself what it does. For false advertising, give this one a miss.
