Deep hazy and murky dark amber color with no activity. Creamy and bubbly light beige 2-3 finger head, lasting around 15-20 minutes, with average legs but a good swirl effect. Flavors of pineapples, orange, grapefruits, lemon, sweet grains dominant barley, clove, toffee, and herbal hops. Slick and oily medium body with a sharp crisp. Strong strength finish, citrusy and slightly tropical though more with a thick leafy and piney feel similar to tobacco. It's resinous and a robust one indeed but still well balanced with lots of brown sugar and cinnamon. Okay freshness that takes a hit from an overly alcoholic feel. The maillard effect is excessive, also the body is a bit too dull and thin. With the yeast it gets even harsher but sharper from a dominant taste of lemon. A tad overly strong, yet really packed with flavors. Overall good quality craft.

Appearance - This beer pours a hazy amber in color with 2 fingers of foamy offwhite head, head retention is average and carbonation is very lively.
Aroma - The nose is floral and piney up front with some grapefruit and lemon on the back end, double down on the hops and you have to do the same for the malt, With that said I get a very strong grainy malt aroma up front and a faint caramel on the back end. there is also a slight breadyness but I think that's just the malt as well.
Taste - There really isn't much in the way of citrus on the flavor profile, it is mostly floral/ leafy up front with a delicately added pine on the back end, funny enough the caramel comes out much stronger here and the grainy/bready flavors are almost non existent.
Feel - This beer is on the heavier side of medium bodied and has prickly carbonation that feels almost coca-cola like. The bitterness is strong but smooth throughout and it drinks fairly easy for a double.
Overall - I think once you have tried a style one to many times it takes something really special to be impressed by a new addition to the style, This is not one of those beers, It is a fine example, don't get me wrong but it follows the profile of a double to a tee without any dominating feature to make it amazing. Would I drink it again? absolutely yes. would I go out of my way to find it? probably not. Cheers!
