On tap at Ohio Brewing Company/Damon's Grill in downtown Akron last night. Poured into a clean, clear mug glass. Review from notes.
From the Brewery: Buckeye Brown
An English Style Brown Ale. Medium bodied, full of rich chocolate and nutty flavors. Utilizing English style malts and hops.
O.G.: 12.5 Plato, IBU's: 20, ABV: 5.2%
A Basic brown, translucent body with 1 inch head which dissipated within a minute. Not inspiring but also it is as expected.
S At the risk of sounding repetitious, basic brown ale smell. Some barley, malts not much hops.
T Brown watery ale with appropriate malty, nutty, barley bigness in the beginning but then reduces to a watery finish very quickly. In that way, it makes it very forgettable.
M Thin to moderate again with that watery feel after the initial brown ale bigness to begin with.
D Good but this beer is really too safe, forgettable and so I am going to give it an "average" rating.
Notes: Maybe I am not a Brown ale fan but this beer underwhelmed. It is a seasonal offering from Ohio Brewing company.
