Ohio brewery`s Alt bier is exceptional in taste and faithfulness to traditional Altbier brewed exclusively in Düsseldorf Germany.

A: It is a medium amber color, tradition alt bier is a shade darker. It has minimal lacing and minimal observed head.

S: It has a very subtle scent.

T: Extremely similar to a traditional alt bier.

M: Slight bitterness, similar but not as pronounced as an IPA.

D: I could drink this all day.

From Web site: Alt-Ernative Amber
The Düsseldorf style of ale has its own unmistakable personality constructed of German-style malts and hops. Full amber color with an impressive malty aroma, the taste is superbly balanced with crisp hops, caramelized malts and imbued with a nice dry finish. A fine session beer!

On tap at Ohio Brewing Company/Damon's Grill in downtown Akron last night. Poured into a clean, clear mug glass. Review from notes.

A Yellow brown translucent basic look with minimal head which dissipates in less than a minute down to tracings.

S Very little smell. I had to smell this several times in order to get some non sweet malt smells. Not all that impressive.

T Like a weak amber. There are some non sweet malts and some hops in there. Again, unimpressive.

M Moderate. Thin, watery finish.

D Fair. Despite claims made on web site that it is a fine session beer I cannot see drinking several of these in succession.

Notes: I am afraid that this is another weak effort from Ohio Brewing Company.
