From Web site: Ohio Pumpkin Ale
It's the time of year for our pumpkin ale that is medium bodied with a nice spice flavor.
O.G. :14.5 IBU's: 15 A.B.V.: 6.2%
On tap at Ohio Brewing Company/Damon's Grill in downtown Akron last night. Poured into a clean, clear mug glass. Review from notes.
A Looks like a light lager with minimal head. Nothing too insiring with just a look.
S Cinnamon, gingerbread but very little pumpkin (I don't think that pumpkin has a strong smell by the time it gets brewed into a beer). The spices were very much in the front of this beer. I found the smell interesting but not for a beer, for a pumpkin spice coffee maybe. I can understand that some would find it a turn off (being a fruitty, gimicky smell).
T Pumpkin tasted but spices were very heavy. It reminded me of one of those pumpkin spice coffees that you can get at Dunkin Donuts and the like. Really spicy nose and front of taste. I cannot even remember an aftertaste as it got very thin near the end. I am not impressed by the taste.
M Thin. I have nothing else to add here. It was very watery.
D Good and if you like this type of gimicky, spicy pumpkin beer then you may really like it.
Notes: Not enough pumpkin in the nose, the taste for me.
