Serving: Bottle

A:
Pours a slightly hazy, but clear brown-copper with a finger + of thick beige head that sticks around pretty well, setling at a clumpy film. Decent retention; stick, even lacing. (3.75)

S:
Toasted nuts. Mineral water, nuts, diluted cocoa. (3.5)

T:
Black tea. Similar to the nose with less nuts. (3.5)

M:
Too much carbonation sticks out. Thin, effervescent, inoffensive, slight aftertaste. (3)

O:
Okay beer.
Pretty slight, unassuming and, well, mild. It is a bit too peppy in the bubble department but it is decent other than that.
The nose and mouth both taste like husks of a really light, somewhat boring porter. There is some nutty character, it is a little toasty, but in some ways it seems like drinking tea or something.
Definitely better pretty warm, on nitro or cask or something, I could see this one being better.
Would have again if offered; worth a shot if you like English ales or if you wanted something inoffensive people who drink macros, if not, though, these guys have other beers that are more amazing IMHO. (3.5)

Bottle: Poured a clear dark copper color ale with a small light brown foamy head with medium retention. Aroma of light nutty caramel malt is pleasant enough for style. Taste is also dominated by some nutty caramel malt with a dry finish. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. Well done for the style with good drinkability level.
