Bottle purchased from the brewery at Anse-à-Beaufils summer of 2017. Poured a brilliant clear golden amber with a creamy whirish head and wonderful lacing. Aroma: Tart orange (blood orange) barnyard, dry, earthy. Taste: Wow! Complex and multi-layered - tart, peppery, lemon zest, orange, leather. Light spicy hop. Rye as note - not overly dominant. Feel: medium bodied plentiful carbonation. Another fine beer feom this wonderful brewer.

Beautiful golden color with a nice 1-inch thick head, some carbonation visible.
Really nice smell, definitely yeasty with the Bretts, a lot of fruity hops too and a little bit of spiciness and rye also.
In the mouth there is lots of flavors going on. first you get the spiciness of the rye, then enters the Bretts with notes of leather and the hops really compliment it. Medium bitterness, really dry.
Nice mouth feel, good carbonation on the tongue. Really enjoyed this beer.

Note: Based off almost week old memories.
L: A cloudy golden color. One finger of head with decent retention.
S: A bit of some earthy, spicy hops. A bit of sweet malt.
T: Some saison character: somewhat prominent clove, some slight fruity esters. Just the absolute slightest of a brett funk in the background of the beer. Maybe some barnyard but you really have to look for it. Still somewhat malty given the low alcohol. I get some bread-like malt character. Some spicey, perhaps noble hop aroma. I get no rye note. Bitterness is stronger than what I would have expected but very nice.
F: Carbonation is crisp and refreshing. Body is light and dry leaving the beer highly drinkable.
O: This was a pleasant surprise. The rye not was absent, as was a fair bit of rye character, but it was pretty tasty. Even though I feel like this beer was trying to hit all the trendy craft beer descriptors, it was good.

Bottle: Poured a lightly hazy amber color ale with a nice large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light dry Brett notes with light rustic malt notes is quite enjoyable. Taste is a nice mix of light rustic malt notes with some dry floral notes and a dry Bretty finish. Body is about average with good carbonation. Nice level of complexity for a session type beer. The rye malt notes could have been more pronounced in my opinion.

A: Lightly hazy amber, with a soap-froth thick white head. Decent retention, and some thick, sticky, but patchy lacing.
S: Mildly funky, some dust and sweat alongside a doughy quality, with a hint of graininess.
T: a touch grainy-sweet ever so briefly, before a fruitiness, and a sharp pepper finish, with some present spicyness from the rye. Only a semblance of funk or sour on the mouth.
M: Fine, if moderately intense, carbonation, but a pretty light body.
O: Decent, if not as Bretty as it could be. Some traditional saison yeast notes are at times a bit more dominant.

Service: Bottle
Bottled on: Late May/Early June
A:
Pours a rich honey-amber with a white soapy head that settles kind of like a rock to a fat ring. Good retention; little lacing. (3.75)
S:
Bready saddle blanket. Warm dough, spicy, sweet grains, slightly tart. (4)
T:
Vaguely tart and doughy. Hints of herbs, white pepper, biscuits. (3.75)
M:
Nice soft velvet, light body, definitely sessionable, light-medium carbonation, quick, down and dirty. (4)
O:
Really tasty beer.
I am not sure I am open-minded enough to be able to embrace a 'session' saison, but whatever. This is a fairly nice looking, fairly good smelling, fairly good tasting beer. It has a little spice from the rye, it is also a bit doughy. The brett mainly comes through in the nose.
It is an enjoyable beer, but it leaves me wondering how great a regular Rye Brett Saison would be from these guys. I know I might be splitting hairs, but I feel like not being restricted by keeping the ABV and body and everything down would be a great idea.
Not that I am complaining.
And also not too much, either, cause I'm curmudgeon enough to not be a fan of super strong saisons either. Hahaha.
Anyway, it was a good beer that I would have again, though it was pretty pricey I feel because of the theoretical 'limitedness' of it.
Worth a shot if you come across it, though. (3.75)
